Update 12/1/11
The building team has been working aggressively to find new space to combine both our worship and office space into a single location. We have enlisted the services of a commercial real estate broker and are pouring through properties both for lease and for sale. Here’s several notes on our findings to date:
- We are looking for property specifically in Redmond.
- Redmond requires a specific zoning for churches which eliminate many options
- We have had conversations with Covenant Properties, an arm of the Covenant denomination, to assist us both in contracts and budget. We discussed options for a capital campaign and logistics.
- We have looked at approximately 60 properties on paper and walked through around 20.
- We have found very little is turn-key and easy to move into without significant improvement. There are a variety of common challenges (parking, tenant improvements, zoning, price) There have been a handful of options we like and are investigating further.
