Members Present: Barb Boyd, Matt Graham, Becky Watson, Bill Wolff, Caroline Cramer, Bryan Grunow, Dave Wells, Chair Aaron Soderlund, and Pastor Doug.

Guest: Jeanine Lewis from the NIKE Team
Doug led the team in devotional and prayer.

Finances - We were pleased to have Jeanine Lewis present as representative from NIKE Team. Jeanine’s expertise (CPA) in understanding financial matters allowed the LT to have an informed discussion of Creekside’s current situation related to our budget and giving. Income is up since last month, reflecting a steady flow of giving on a regular basis. Discussion followed regarding how to maximize interest gained through our accounts. It was agreed to follow the NIKE Team recommendation and proceed with a sensible plan to do this. Doug will make a brief report to the congregation Sunday 13th and communicate our conviction that God is at work at Creekside and that we look ahead with high expectations!

Christmas Gift - The meeting continued with a brief discussion of the annual Staff Christmas Gift. The gift is the congregation’s opportunity to show our gratitude to the staff for the year’s work. Following our previous approach, the gift is given to all staff (full and part-time) current to the time of the gift, the amount then based on number of hours worked.

Missional On-Ramps - The team next spent time discussing missional on-ramps, that is, how to continue to be Christ in our community. Vienna Lucas had reported to the team that some Creeksiders are helping at the YWCA to translate contracts and help clients understand them. We will continue to look for opportunities to be about the work of the church.

Youth Ministries – LT approved $1500 to further the work of our Youth Ministry jointly with Young Life. We continue to be passionate about seeing discipleship and spiritual growth among our own youth, and yet also be active in youth ministries apart from Sunday morning and our own church family. The LT felt this was a significant work. Doug, Dave, and Stacey will meet together with families of our youth in the near future and share some of our vision and plans.

Marketing Plan - Signs have been updated and painted by Debbie, a friend of Barb who is an artist. We would like a task force formed with people who are in marketing/branding to periodically come up with recommendations for how to best communicate Creekside’s presence and service. Bryan volunteered to be an LT person as part of that team. Dave suggested that Conference Associate Superintendent Don Robinson could also be a resource for this. By next meeting the other members will be identified and a meeting of the task force will be scheduled.

Building Committee - Stew has signed up for this. Doug will take the LT position on this team, as he felt a sense of urgency on moving forward with this task force. By next meeting the other members will be identified and a meeting of the task force will be scheduled.

LT Roles and Areas of Visibility - Doug brought up that this has been an area of confusion historically. How can we live out the role that God has called us to? Everyone shared their definition of the roles of LT. How does what we do contribute to the vision and spiritual welfare of Creekside now and 5 years out? We will discuss next meeting how we as LT can be spiritual leaders of the congregation.

Christmas Eve - Doug and Kris will be leading this service of carols and candles.

Next meeting:  January 7th at Aaron’s house. Aaron closed in prayer at 9:00 p.m
