Servant Mission School

You know "about" living missionally, but how - and where - do you actually do it? Is it even really possible? Creekside's Servant Mission School is the formation process that transforms people into missional agents for God's Kingdom. The next two Servant Mission School courses begin Sunday, October 3:

Cultural Captivity: Understanding and Freeing Ourselves from Cultural Addictions
In community, you will explore the power Western culture has over our lives and how we can begin to set a new, more Kingdom oriented course. 10 Weeks, beginning October 3, 5:00 PM, at the Creekside Ministry Center. Cost: $35 for materials and books.

Learning to Discerning God's Call
In community, you will learn how to discern God's voice from the voices of family, friends, culture, and self. We will explore deeply how God has used our experiences to form us into people uniquely called for the Kingdom of God. 10 Weeks, beginning October 3, 6:30 PM, at the Creekside Ministry Center. Cost: $35 for materials and books.

Contact Doug Humphreys (DougH@ecreekside.com) for more information or to sign up.

Bible Read Thru...Round #2!

As you may or may not know, several of us spent January through April reading through the Bible - Genesis to Revelation. I can say that, without exception, each person found it more enjoyable and more beneficial than we ever hoped. So...we're doing it again! Between now and Tuesday, January 4, we are reading through the Bible. This time, we're going to do it in chronological order. (While the books are general in order, there are many that aren't in the Bible in the order they are written.)

The parameters are very simple:
1.Commit to reading the whole Bible by January 4.
2.Read with a pen in your hand - either underlining or taking notes in a journal.
3. Every Tuesday morning that you're in town, you commit to coming to (location TBD) from 6:30-7:30 AM to share what you've underlined and what "conversations" you've had with God about His Word.

That's it. This is not a prayer time (though prayer is good). This is not a Bible study per se (though Bible Study is good). This is not a discussion (though discussion in good). We're simply reading the Bible, then getting together to share what God has said to us.

FYI: There are about 130 days between now and January 4. That's about 9-10 chapters a day. Reading out loud (which I highly recommend) at a normal pace, it'll take you about 40-50 minutes a day. Tough? Yes. Doable. Definitely. Valuable? Absolutely! It would be a good idea to simply set a goal for the amount of time to spend each day, as opposed to having your goal be to read 10 chapters. It will seem much less like a chore and more like "sitting down to read a good book." (Which it is, by the way!)

Email Keith (keith@thatyoumayknow.com) so we know how many want to join and he'll email you the chronological reading plan.
