Holy Week
Holy Week
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. (John 3:16-17 NIV)
I eagerly await putting on my new spring dress and celebrating Easter with you! I am not so eagerly moving into this next week, trying once again to somehow understand and fathom what Jesus suffered and how He died, for me. I am definitely a “must go through it to get to it” person, so I share this poetry hoping it will help as our Triune God walks with us toward Easter. Love and Joy! Char
Hammer and Nails
Grace in the point of a nail spearing flesh, impaling bone, raining blood that saturates my ignorance, my fault, my sin. His blood absorbing, forgiving, releasing my God-created essence to go, ransomed from this hill of shame and death, freed to hear His call, today.

Tenebrae
They say it was probably a sirocco, the historians who need a reasonable and earthly explanation. Was that what you used Father? a dark, hot, wailing wind of the desert to paint a black armband across the heavens for those hours as you grieved in agony over sin and separation from Your only Son? You watched Him die and go to hell, for me. In my humanity I cannot fathom Your loss, but I stand before You in the darkness, weeping, but willing to say, “You promised and I believe”
Char 2010 Ever ready
In the midst of that hideous public death, Christ encountered and died for all my personal sin, The depths of my despair, and my private hell.
Now He stands on the other side of Easter! Ever ready to heal my heart and lead me home. . . A Resurrection Person!
