The 167: July 18, 2019

We are nearly through our summer sermon series entitled “This We Affirm.”  This is an important series that has been a refresher on who we are as a Covenant Church.  If you happen to have not bee here for one of these Sundays, I strongly encourage you to make sure you’ve had a chance to listen to each of these messages (you can find our podcast here).  The reason I am underscoring this is because this series is helping to set a framework for how we can better engage in healthy conversations around topics that can sometimes be difficult to fully engage with as a church.  And we are committed to doing better on this front as we head into this next year.

This past Sunday we dug a bit deeper into our affirmation of “Freedom in Christ.” If you want to continue to explore and better understand this affirmation, I commend to you this 12 minute video that the Covenant published over a decade ago.  Particularly in light of this affirmation (as well as this series we are in), I again want to also underscore the invitation I’ve put out there to grab coffee or a meal with anyone that would like to talk further about any of these matters (including further discussion about Gather 2019).
