This pastoral search has been an absolute delight. Not one day have I known what I was doing. As our Leadership Team put together the Pastoral Search Team (PST), I found my arm volunteering to chair the team before my mind caught up. My heart was fertile ground for God’s move. I told the Lord, “We are not going anywhere that You are not leading, and we won’t move until you say.”
Our time this winter and spring was spent praying, studying our Covenant missional markers (remember our church survey?) and seeking God’s steps. It was such a privilege to be responsible for seeking God’s will. Our assignment was to be close to the Lord so we could hear from him. When it would have been easier to skip steps or go with the status quo, we sought spiritual guidance and wisdom and together reached conclusions according to Creekside values and community desires.
We feel God’s satisfaction and enjoyment of us in this process and are honored to present our recommendation of Pastor Tim and Pastor Julie as co-lead pastors for this next season of Creekside’s future. We’ve all witnessed these two individuals shepherd our community with care, grace, humility, respect for and concession to one another. God has made this PST process fun and the decision clear as we’ve been privileged to hear honest interviews and watched this partnership grow all year.
We truly feel the future of Creekside is bright and hopeful as we grow together to further God’s kingdom. This is God's church and we are his people. As we unite in sacred community, let’s be wondering how to invite our friends and family and others into this joy-filled, exciting friendship with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
In partnership and grace, Beth and the PST (Blane, Sue, Dave, April, Lisa, and Jim)
