The 167: March 21, 2019
“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.” (Rom. 8:1-2). These words have been going through my head for the past couple of days.
For those of you who weren’t at church this past Sunday, Keith Ferrin spoke on Romans 8. He challenged everyone to read these words and all of Romans 8 daily, and he said that if we did that we would become a changed people.
Well if you’re anything like me, than you thought about it when he said it and thought it would be a great thing to do but you got home and promptly forgot about it. It’s not so much that it is too much work or you don’t want to, it really is just because you forgot about it!
This week I am praying that I will remember God’s presence and his word daily, and that I will be able to see his impact in my life. I am praying that I will not be distracted by what I want, but to be able to focus on what God wants, and I will be praying that that will be the same for everyone, not just me.
“Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires” (Rom. 8:5)
