The 167: August 8, 2019
“Remembering why we do what we do”…this is the August mini-sermon series that we find ourselves in. We launched it this past Sunday by hanging out in the first 10 verses of Luke 15 and remembering that well known statement by Jesus in Luke 19:10 – “For the Son of Man came to seek and save the lost.”
The “lost.” Who is that? Do I really believe that they are lost? Am I aware of my own lostness (whether current or in the past)? These are some of the questions we engaged with and that are sticking with us while we walk through these 167 hours between our Sunday worship gatherings. This is why Jesus came. So this is also then what we are called to consistently be about as His disciples and church. May God continue to remind us of this reality as we continue forward in our week and as we gather again this Sunday to further engage around this important topic.
