The 167: December 12, 2019
This Advent and Christmas season we are taking some intentional time to really pause and think on some of the classic texts and themes of this season. It is really the perfect time to invite friends and family members who are currently plugged into a church. This last Sunday we had the awesome experience of being semi-unplugged for our worship service (thanks to the adaptive leadership of our worship band!) and we took time to really pause and sit with the ginormous truth and reality that our “star-breathing” God took on flesh in the person of Jesus as a fragile baby. If you didn’t catch the video that demonstrates how BIG our God is that I had wanted to show during the message (which I posted on our Facebook), you can find it here.
And again, I wanted to let you know ahead of time about our service on December 29. This is going to be a very special morning of sharing stories about how we have encountered God in a real way over the past year. I’m giving you this specific head’s up, because I’d love as many people to be thinking about this and ready to share. But also…we are going to make a very specific invitation on Christmas Eve for people to come back the following Sunday and hear the diverse variety of how multiple people have truly encountered this very real God. It’s going to be a great morning. And I know many may still be travelling, but I really encourage you to make the effort to be there. 🙂
