How are you doing on your journey to becoming more like Jesus? “How goes your walk” This last week I shared several ways to dig into the Word of God.  God wants a relationship with us and has offered us ways to know HIM through reading HIS gift to us, the Bible. Here are the suggestions: take a chunk of scripture, the Psalm from this past week, or the first chapter of the gospel of John.  Dig in…

1. Ask God to instruct you

2. Ask yourself what lens are you looking through-

3. What is God’s intent?

4. Ask in community because sometimes we can get things wrong (be humble)

5. Read rigorously, do you see yourself in the pages?

6. Read the Bible holistically scripture will interpret scripture.

7. Remember Grace for yourself and others.

8. Look for transformation in yourself not others…

9. Read with compassion for the world around you.

10. Valid reading leads to obedience and service.
