The 167: March 28, 2019
How is your walk? As we learned this last week, from Megan Burch, families in Uganda and Kenya walk many miles each day, just for water. The insights she offered brings a perspective that many of us cannot comprehend. The scriptures instruct “to do justice, and to love kindness and to walk humbly with your God” Micah 6;8. How did you do this week?
Megan gave us a list of verbs; did you find one to challenge your heart this week? The list included: walk, sacrifice, give, love and show mercy. World vision ask us to be involved with walking for water, did you sign up? What part of the week did you sacrifice for HIM? We so often think of giving as an offering taken on Sunday morning, are there other ways to give? Love is not just the easy “I love you”, it involves action were you able to act lovingly towards someone not lovable? Mercy has been shown to us through Christ, did you pass it on this week to someone?
I personally was a bit convicted by this call to action. Her final story brought me hope for my journey. “if you want to go fast, go alone, if you want to go far, go in community. I am thankful that you and I are on this journey together. God has called us to walk with each other so that we can go the distance.
Are you walking in the world vision 6k or running the 1/2 marathon? Join the Creekside team, so you can go the distance. If you are unable to do those, what are you doing to walk out your faith in community with other believers?
